This week it is too hot to move a lot. Let's not talk about actions. The other kind of verbs are being verbs.
am, are, is, was, were, seem, appear, ... Example: I am a teacher. (I am not teaching now.) She is a dancer. (She is not dancing now.) He is a chef. (He is not cooking now.) Being verbs are like equal signs. I = teacher She=dancer He=chef They do not tell an action but connect the subject to the object. Note: Being verbs and helping verbs are often the same. Helping verbs join with a main verb. Being verbs do not. Helping verbs connect to an action verb. Being verbs do not. Helping verbs only have a grammar meaning. Being verbs are the same as = Example: He appears sleepy. He = sleepy. She looks angry. She = angry. It smells delicious. It = delicious. Every sentence has a verb. In Spanish, you don't even need the subject. You MUST have a verb. In English commands, you only need a verb. Example: "Walk!" "Run!" "Study." There are 2 kinds of verbs. Verbs give action. Verbs can also be equal signs (=) Action verbs: They tell the action that someone or something is doing. Help me make a list
