This week begins Early Voting. In the US, people can vote before Election Day. This helps traffic on Election Day.
If you are able (eligible) to vote, you go to a special place...the "polling place"...You tell your name and address and you get your ballot. You follow the directions to fill in the circles. Then you deposit the paper in the machine that counts your vote.
It is best to look at a sample ballot before you go. Then you will know what your options are.
Are you registered? You can check here if you live in Wake County.
Here is a sample Wake County ballot.
If you cannot vote, you can still participate.
1. Talk with your children about voting. They will be old enough someday.
2. Volunteer for a candidate that you believe in.
3. Read and talk about the issues with friends.
