ð Recognize simple traffic/emergency signs (e.g. school, stop, speed limit, etc.)
First, 4 groups: Action English leisure (driving) pictures (in my folder in the file cabinet).
Write a sentence for each picture to answer the question you received.
A. What is he doing? He is (verb)ing… for every picture. PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
B. What did he do? He (past tense)… PAST TENSE
After share your answers with class.
Then work in the same groups in stations.
1) Traffic signs: Take turns describing one of the traffic signs on p 74 or 75 of the manual. The others have to guess which sign it is. Whoever guesses right first picks a coin from the plastic bag WITHOUT LOOKING. At the end, the person with the most money wins. They should turn in a piece of paper with the earnings for each person.
Model: This sign is (color). It is (shape). It has… DO NOT READ ANY WORDS THAT ARE ON THE PAGE like soft shoulder, but you can say it has 2 words. One is part of my body.
2) Questions: When a book has a lot of words, you cannot read ALL of them. Look at the titles, bold words, and special pictures.
Use this strategy to answer the questions in the booklet.
page 9 What are 3 skills tested?
page 11 At what age can you get a learner permit?
page 29 Are “points” good or bad?
page 43 Can you pass a school bus with flashing red lights?
page 61 What color are work zone signs?
page 69 What color is on the top of a stop light?
page 74-75 Practice these signs

Memory: Look at these words on your phone to learn them.
Then place all flash cards face down. Choose 2 at a time to find the picture to match each word.
