Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. He has helped many people learn to read. Here are some of his silly stories.
We practiced looking for a home. We also talked about big basements in England....big enough to have swimming pools. Here is an example floor plan and here are some pictures. |

We did some sound practice. Pick a letter. List words that start and end with that sound. We "built" my house then described it. We compared it to the Tiny Houses we saw yesterday. The house is big. The house has a big yard. The house has a chimney. The house has an apple tree. The house has a porch. The house has only one window. The house has a washing machine and dryer. The house has a beautiful garden. The house has a dog house in the yard. The house has a new shingled red roof. The people living in the house have a car in the driveway. The house has a garden with flowers. The house has a door in front. It is sunny at the house. The house is warm because it has a chimney. The house has a little bedroom. The dog has a nice house outside. He is the alarm for the house. It does not have a kitchen, but it has a table and chair. You can eat at Little Caesar’s or Dominoes. Do you want to rent the house? It cost $300. We used the worksheets to describe details about our homes. What is renting? What is owning? How are they different? We read a story about a man who lost his apartment...for 1 year!!! We asked questions about other peoples houses or apartments to practice our questions. |
