Today we practiced vocabulary about illnesses and injuries. We wrote sentences to help us understand. We had an excellent meal at break time. Thank you, Marisol, for organizing it. Thank you everyone for bringing so much food! We wrote a letter to our child's teacher (or our husband's boss). We also learned a song that we will sing to the children tomorrow. Here is the song so you can practice. Here is another song if you want to learn about emotions. This week you can learn to tell about yourself. How do you feel? (emotions) Where are you from? (your country) We are half-way through summer vacation. Maybe you feel happy. Maybe you feel tired. Maybe you feel sad. I am happy because it is not very hot today. I am tired because I have worked a lot in my garden. I am sad because I want more vacation to play with my children. How do you feel? Here are some emotions words. Here is another list. Your sentence starts with a subject (I, you, he/she/it, we, they, or the name of a person)... ...then the "be"verb is conjugated or you can use "feel" ("feels" for he/she/it) ...then the emotion word. EXAMPLES: He is sad. He feels sad. They are excited. They feel excited. We are tired. We feel tired. A person might ask "Why?" Then you answer "...because...with a sentence about the reason. He is sad because he lost his dog. He feels sad because he lost his dog. They are excited because they are going to Disney World. They feel excited because they are going to Disney World. We are tired because we did not sleep last night. We feel tired because we did not sleep last night. Practice here. Practice more here. Where are you from? Now tell someone about yourself. People will ask you "Where are you from?" You can answer "I am from ______." (example: I am from Mexico.) People might ask, "Tell me about your country. Where is it? Is it hot? What is the food like?
