ð Recognizes and uses names of local grocery stores and department stores
ð Develop a list of vocabulary related to specific community buildings
Activity #1 Pick a sticky note and write the answer to (A …is a place where…), then draw the community building. Add 7 words that relate to that building.
Activity #2: finish writing paragraph about what you like. (Send me your selfie this weekend)
Activity #3: Ask our new student questions using “what, where, when, why” This is practice for talking about any topic.
#4 Finish Locations: All Stars p. 23-29 to describe where something is located. (We talked about our new student's country using this model.)
p. 23: Is there…? Are there…?
Yes, there is... Yes, there are...
No, there is not...
Then we used this model to talk about our classroom town. We also asked questions about our business.
Example: When is your restaurant open? It is open only for dinner.
On Monday, we will use our town again to complete an errand list. Our students who were absent today will have a list of things to find. Our students who drew buildings will be the workers. They will help the customers find what they need. You will make a vocabulary list of 3 new words for each store.
Example:
I need to buy medicine for my daughter. Where can I go?
You can go to the pharmacy next to the supermarket.
(at the pharmacy) Do you have cough medicine?
Yes.
How much does it cost?
It is $5.
