ð Write a paragraph about a job following the model.
On the board, write a sentence about one job and where the person works.
Pass out community buildings again. Finish the list of 2 jobs for each building.
Each person will pick a different job and decide:
What would the person dress like? What would the person do?
We will use Black dictionary p. 170-186 and Ventures p. 104-5
We will read the example and then follow it to complete our jobs from the community.
For example: Fire station:
I am…(job). I work at…(location). I usually wear...It is inappropriate to wear… For my job, I have to…I can (action)...I am a/an Fantastic…wonderful…exemplary….excellent…superb…amazing….(job).
I am a firefighter. I work at the fire station. I usually wear overalls, boots, a hat, gloves, and a coat. It is inappropriate to wear shorts, a dress, or a tie. For my job, I have to fight fires. I can work fast. I can lift heavy things. I am strong. I can give first aid. I am an excellent firefighter.
I am a librarian. I work at the library. I usually wear business casual clothing. It is inappropriate to wear shorts, a baseball cap, or flip flops. For my job, I have to help people find and read books. I can organize well. I am friendly. I can use a computer well. I am a fantastic librarian.
We will each read our paragraphs tomorrow.
