We wrote a sentence on the board about something you did for a job.
Activity #1: We made sentences with past tense and I gave out prizes from the Business Expo.
Activity #2: Read the Freddy story together and answer the questions. Then fill in the blanks.
Activity #3: We wrote sentences about our dream jobs.
I can…I am…or I like ___ing….

Example: I want to be a cashier(job). I am a fast worker. (personality) I can use a cash register to charge customers. I like counting the money. (skills) I am an accurate counter. (personality) I like speaking to people. (skills) I can talk in English and Spanish. I worked at Compare Foods for 3 years. I was a manager. I volunteered at my children’s school. (past tense verb). I am an excellent cashier(job).
I want to be a doctor. I am helpful. I like helping sick people. I can do surgeries. I was a doctor at Rex Hospital for 10 years. I specialized in maternity. I am a special doctor.
I want to be a nurse. I am calm and focused. I like helping people. I can draw blood and take blood pressure. I worked at Wake Med for 5 years. I helped deliver a baby. I am a superb nurse.
I want to be a manager. I am a nice person. I am organized. I like being responsible. I can make schedules for the workers. I can count the money. I can solve problems. I like managing the success of the store. I worked at Belk’s for 4 years. I was a manager. I studied business for 2 years. I am an excellent manager.
We finished our jobs unit with some practice interview sentences and questions.

Define comparative adjectives. Compare jobs with the comparative adjectives.
